1. Surrey Garden (1) 17-4

2. St. Gregory (3) 23-1

3. Fort Thomas (4) 14-7

4. Valley Lutheran (x) 16-6

5. Beaver Dam (x) 19-5

What a joke. I love that he has The Fort in the top 5, but they haven't played well lately and their record on these rankings is wrong. Why is Surrey
Garden ahead of St. Gregs? Where is Pima?

Why do you have to post the same thing three times? I agree Surrey is playing well and is definitely a title contender, but I still believe St. Gregory is the
top team. 26-1 compared to 19-4 with a lot of those wins over quality teams and smashing Valley Lutheran by 34 points, yeah I think St. Gregs deserves it.
Don't count out the Fort yet, they will be a tough team to beat in the playoffs.

Why doesn't Surrey belong as number 1? Surrey is playing a tougher schedule beating Blue Ridge (3A) at Blue Ridge, and Canyon State (2A) at Canyon State.
Almost all their 1-A games have been blow outs (expect for Mayer, lost at Mayer by 6, beat them at Surrey by 19). Their other losses are from tournaments
playing out of state teams. They handed Tempe Prep 1/30 their second loss beating them by 30. St Gregory had a close win at home against Mayer and a loss to
a weaker St David. If...

Totally agree with you indyfan! Yeah refs are assigned to school but the same ones always seem to be at the same schools. Miami for example is just like you
are stating about Mayer they are bad. Specially in these small towns there is not much to choose from so you get the same home town refs that always seem to be
homers. Miami is one of the worst those refs make it obvious.

I know that the AIA assigns officials and the coach/ad has little say. Still, the same officials always seem to do the Mayer games. One of them was the same
official that ejected VL's scorekeeper 2 years ago for arguing Mayer changing the score at halftime when they found an uncounted basket. Also, since
mileage is paid to officials and the home team pays them, they always get officials that live closer to home to keep the cost down. This tends to provide them
a little "Home...

PimaFan, I see we have a mutual respect. Pima has always been tough and the games between the two are always exciting. I agree that the East regionals will be
interesting and could come down to the Roughriders and the Fort. Cibecue could be a threat and is tough AT HOME, but I don't see them beating Pima this
Saturday.

I was at the game Tuesday night. Mayer played well. VL played well. I have coached and seen many 1a games in my life, but this one has to rank in the top 5
for most one-sided officiated games I have ever seen. I don't like to blame officials, as poor officiating usually evens out, but this game was
unbelievable. Mayer is basically 8 football players playing basketball. Still, they are quick and talented. They are also very physical; easily the most
physical team in 1a west....
